The traditional “horn” for calling the hounds, at least in this country, was made from cow or goat horn. In England they used metal horns, and still do. Some of the prettiest and best sounding horns I’ve ever seen were made from goat horn. I’ve seen a few made from buffalo horn. I have a cow horn hanging right here on my wall.

Hi Bob. I didn't know they used goat horns. I have a cattle horn up in the old cottage.
