I love this era. I've just completed the first draft of a novel that takes place in French Canada in 1702. Your blog has been wonderful to visit whenever I needed to get a sense of the times.

Really good to see an author paying attention to details. Something as simple as making fire correctly with flint and steel can for me, make or break a story. With this knowledge you can even manipulate a story. The same with using a firelock, or using the lock to make fire. Things can happen or not happen that can again direct the story.
Regards.
