English. 1625-1635. Wool, trimmed with silk and lined with linen.

It seems to me that the seaman's outfit in the last post would allow for great freedom of movement, something highly desirable when you're climbing the rigging, I'm sure. The pantaloons in this outfit would seem to do likewise, but not so much with the top. Also, the seaman's togs must have been of stout fabric to take so much patching and still be worth wearing. Today's fabrics would never last, I fear.
