Trail food. Popcorn.

The woodland Indians used to pop corn in the hot ashes of the fire, and it is they who gave this knowledge to the early colonial settlers who learned to pop the corn in their kettles. popcorn makes a light and tasty trail food.

I popped some corn today. Don't put too much in the kettle/sausepan at one time, I put in a 3rd of a cup each time with a little oil. When it appears to have stopped popping, do NOT take off the lid. It is merely playing possum!
