My thoughts exactly Gorges. I would imagine a lot of artifacts will be overlooked!

An absolute shame. It doesn't sound like they will be excavating with a trowel and a brush does it? Its all heritage they can never get back. Price of progress I suppose. Dave

I wonder what would have happened if it was a native site they had found? I know that the local new Coles complex was halted because of a native site found. There is now a show case on the corner of the building where the items were discovered.

A native site would have carried more weight in their eyes I imagine. Shame the two weren't found together. It wouldn't be unusual I suspect.
