My New Frock Coat.

I probably do not have a need for a frock coat, but I like the style so much I just had to have one. I am sure I will find occasion to wear it.

I studdied many period paintings before settling on this cuffless design, there seemed to be some blurring/overlapping of garment types between the sleeved weskit and the frock coat. Ones without sleeves appeared more in late 17thc. to early to mid 18th century paintings both in England and France.
This coat is in grey wool with pewter buttons and vents at the back for wearing a sword.
Now I need a sword!
