18TH CENTURY LIVING HISTORY, HISTORICAL TREKKING, AND LONG TERM SURVIVAL.
LOL. She is just a tad irate. I have a Cornish hen on a nest right now, and she is proving to be a good setting hen. That nest has been disturbed several times. Other hens got in there and laid eggs, then the dogs got in there and stole some eggs. The result is I don’t know which eggs are which, or which are oldest. She started hatching eggs at the rate of 1 a day last Wednesday. Yesterday I found a dead chick in the nest. Don’t know what happened to that one, but she had 2 live ones. This morning she had 3 and is still on the nest. Will be interesting to see what she ends up with. I have another hen setting on a dozen eggs. Hope she has better luck with her nest.
Interesting feedback Bob, thank you. Much appreciated.Regards.
Can't blame the hen; she's just being a good mama!
