My historic romance novel has a chapter on French persons traveling the Nemacolin Indian trail to Redstone (Brownsville), Pennsylvania and traveling the Monongahela River to the Ohio River, ending up being the first settlers of Gallipolis in 1790. These French came here through the Scioto Associates.
