"The Battle of Poltava", from a modern Russian movie/tv-series? about Czar Peter the Great. The battle was fought in 1709. Although it is not entirely authentic (with drummers and ensigns walking here and there, teh infantry carry the muskets on the right shoulder instead of the left, infantry breaking ranks and going into hand-to-hand combat, and something that is supposed to be a cavalry charge), the filmmakers have done quite a good job. The uniforms look very goodEspecially the Swedish tactic of "Ga Pa" is nicely depicted (although they wouldn't charge such a long distance).
Would love to see the entire series. Regards, Marc.
