These are usually used for going round the coast close to land, then travelling up a river to hunt, forage & fish.<br />I did note though that there were some American Indians with Australian Aboriginal DNA.<br />I got swamped in a sudden storm on the Great Lakes in winter one time & had to swim my boat to shore.
